New Bishop of Stockholm confirmed.
Ms Eva Brunne was confirmed today as the 8th Bishop of Stock-holm after some legal wrangling (unjustified). Bishop Brunne who was elected by a majority of delegates on the 21st of April is partnered with another woman, who is also a Priest. Bishop Brunne will be consecrated on the 8th of November at Upsala Cathedral together with Finnish born Ms Tuulikki Koivunen Bylund, the new Bishop of Härnösand. Ms Brunne is currently Diocesan Dean of Stockholm and Ms Koivonen Bylund is Dean of Upsala.

EXCELLENT NEWS! Thank you for sharing your breakthroughs with those of us that still look forward to having them in our lifetimes!
FELICIDADES to the new Bishops!
do you have a link for this?
Wonderful. Are you planning to go to the consecration?
Dears Leonardo and Ann, yes it is indeed excellent news. Mr Brunne was the best candidate (her nr 2 is gay friendly, Rector of Sta Sophia where the Rainbow masses are held).
The link is under the headline in Swedish.
Make that Ms Brunne...
I rejoice to read this.
What a progressive Church!
Interesting thought, Amelia, but it's something like 600 kilometers from here, and though it's a big Cathedral all seats are probably taken. But it would be great, I admire both ladies.
That is a long way to go. Perhaps they'll do a web cast like the Episcopal Church did for ++Katharine. I invited parishioners to watch with me. We had printed bulletins (downloaded from the web) so we could join in the service. I celebrated the Eucharist and so we all had communion too. It was a great way to participate without going to the National Cathedral. The web is very useful.
Great news!
Congrats to the church which is now light years ahead of TEC and CoE.

Lead us ever onward, I say in congratulating the Stockholm church. And thanks to God for their obedience to His Spirit!
